Traditional Chinese Acupuncture is our primary focus at the Integrated Center for Oriental Medicine, but at times we may combine some of the following acupuncture techniques to maximize results.

Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture is a micromeridian system of acupuncture points that use approximately 200 points in the ear. The concept was first identified in ancient China but was developed by Dr. Nozier of France. This system is used worldwide. It is used quite often for addictions, pain management and overall calming.

Zhu Scalp Acupuncture was developed by Prof. Ming Qing Zhu, L.Ac. This is the method of choice for treating stroke, neurological problems, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and postsurgical pain syndromes.

Koryo (Korean) Hand Therapy (KHT) is a unique micromeridian system. Hand points were known in ancient China, but it wasn’t until Dr. Tae Woo Yoo of South Korea discovered a whole system of points. Based on the theory of meridians it is highly effective in treating pain problems.

Ah Shi Points are acupuncture points on the body that become spontaneously sore. Thought to be connected to the primary meridian system these points are highly effective in treating muscular pain problems. Similar to Trigger Points developed by Dr. Janet Travell.

Acupressure is used as an alternative to acupuncture for infants and children. Quite effective when applied to the auricular, KHT, Ah Shi and scalp points.
